Quote of the Week - Petrarch

"No land now, no sir
is constant for me.
Because I dwell nowhere.
I'm a pilgrim everywhere."

~ Petrarch

I just love this. And it came as the second random Petrarch reference in a week, so it had to be relevant.

We have a lot of bad imagery surrounding the word pilgrim, but this pre-dates those.  The idea contained here seems close to the idea of non-attachment - yet not to things, but to that most primal of urges - the attachment to place.

Writing exercise for this week: What is your attachment to place? Where do you dwell? Where would you like to undertake a pilgrimage to?

Happy Monday!
