Quote of the Week - Wedd

"There’s all of these people, places and things.
One big great conversation, Tearing through everything.
Punching holes in the darkness, that the light may bleed in.
We’re all built to shine,
People & Places & Things"

I love love love this song.  It reduces complexity so simply and gets to the heart of things.  It's a great thing to listen to on a Monday!  Thanks to Adam for letting me post the lyrics!

I also LOVE the video!

Here are the full lyrics:

BUILT TO SHINE

Lyrics by Adam Wedd

With our lives we could go anywhere, there’s new potential every day.
With our words we could build anything, write a book or song or play,
New days they are for dreaming, to get closer to the start
As for you my dear my life’s for you, so to you I give my heart.

There’s all of these people, places and things.
One big great conversation, Tearing through everything.
Punching holes in the darkness, that the light may bleed in.
We’re all built to shine,
People & Places & Things

Sometimes we’re all caught up, in what we think or say.
Some days we feel we’re not enough, to be how we are made
But then we hear the voice that’s speaking, right into your heart.
Take risks, have hope, learn to be more yourself
Dance for freedom like the start

We’re all built to shine
Set your heart hopes high

Quote of the Week - Oliva

"Time is an Invention.Waiting for my train at the platform...it says it will be here in 4 minutes...it's been over 12' and still waiting...no one seems to care but...I do. I want to dissect time and eat it."
~ Maximiliano Oliva

I love this.  Thanks Maxi for letting me use it!  The idea that time is an invention is such a big and great one, but it's of no use at all until you feel it for yourself.  "I want to dissect time and eat it," is one of the most poetic things I've read in a long time.

Yay for another week of real quotes by real live people!

So....here's a writing prompt for your day:

What does time taste like?

What tools would you need to dissect it and how would you go about it?

Quote of the Week - Stewart

"The psyche is a powerful ocean of emotional energy and symbolic meaning. Sometimes we are carried by its deep, unseen currents, sometimes engulfed by its waves and can feel overwhelmed or lost. If we ride these currents though - holding our hand on the tiller of faith, intention, and commitment to our heart practice - meaning, and the freedom of new consciousness, will always rise to meet us exactly where we are, as renewed life force, interest and joy."

This:  "...holding our hand on the tiller of faith, intention, and commitment to heart practice," yes, very yes.  Not easy, but exactly the exercise of the moment.  Using faith to guide the course and keeping the course through faith.  Not forgetting to breathe.  Thanks always to Mr. Stewart for his tremendous wisdom and insight.

Quote of the Week - Blake (not that Blake - even better Blake!)

"Isn't it strange;
fear, in its assuring way, convinces you your next move will be disastrous. You ignore the warning and your move turns out to be the best thing you could have done for yourself and the people you love and those you wish would just heal.
Yup. Strange."
-John S. Blake

How'd I meet John S. Blake? I think he MySpace messaged me that he and this guy were touring and could they come feature in Cali at my spot. Read a few lines of his work and knew he was real. The other guy didn't make it. But the night John S. Blake, John West, and Judy Holiday featured at Down Home was pretty much legend.

That was January 2007.  I don't think I've ever seen anyone turn their life and their self around so doggedly and with so much success as he has - all the while writing and performing exceedingly high quality work.  John's is excellent advice to take -- has been to the very edge and come back all the way.

Do the best with this Monday you can!  And then with Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday...

Here's a present --- this goes with John's TEDX Talk:
